About Merton

Merton is a village in in the Lake Country area of Waukesha County, twenty miles west of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The village of Merton, whose population was 3,346 at the 2010 census, is partially within the Town of Merton, whose population was 7,988 at the 2000 census.

The Village and Town of Merton area a quiet, cozy community where families can thrive in a rural setting. It's also a good fit for any outdoor enthusiast. There are several nearby parks and five lakes, where residents and visitors can enjoy fishing, biking, hiking and water skiing along with many other activities. Beaver Lake, Lake Keesus, Moose Lake, Okauchee Lake and Pine Lake are nearby. In addition, there are great ballparks, snowmobiling, hiking, and The Ice Age Trail.

Great schools, a superb library, and delicious restaurants rounds things out, making the Village and Town of Merton a wonderful place to live, work, and play.

Merton Schools

Merton is a part of the well respected Arrowhead School District, known for its high academic standards, in addition to its top ranking athletic teams. There are many indoor and outdoor activities held by The Merton Athletic Association throughout the year. The Merton Athletic Association is a volunteer-based 501c3 non-profit organization whose purpose is to offer athletic activities for residents of Merton and the surrounding communities.

Merton Athletic Association

The Merton Athletic Association was established more than 35 years ago, primarily with adults in mind. It began with baseball and, later, softball was added, with games being played at Fireman's Park. Although M.A.A. continues to offer programs for adults, such as yoga, volleyball, and softball, the focus has shifted over the years. Now the majority of programs are targeted toward children in the Merton community, using area schools and playgrounds as game sites. Youth programs are varied and include baseball, basketball, soccer, and tumbling. Through athletics children develop focus, learn discipline, build determination, and understand the 'team' concept so essential to the ongoing success of Merton.

Fireman's Park

Fireman’s Park has several different activities for children and adults to enjoy. Located West of Main Street. Fireman’s Park has picnic tables, playground equipment, and baseball fields. The park eventually will be expanded to include more baseball fields, soccer fields, and a volleyball area.

Bugline Trail

Bugline Trail is a 12.2 trail, located on the old railroad tracks, that runs from the Village of Merton to the Village of Menomonee Falls. On certain days, when the sky is overcast and the air thick with moisture, the trail can be downright enchanting.
